Salman Rushdie novelist was attacked on a lecture stage in New York

Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie is an Indian-born British-American novelist. 

Salman Rushdie born on 19 June, 1947 in Mumbai, India. 

Rushdie was married to his first wife, Clarissa Luard and stay with her from 1976 to 1987. 

Rushdie was married to his second wife Marianne Wiggins, an American novelist and stay with her from 1988 to 1993. 

Rushdie was married to his 3rd  wife Elizabeth West and stay with her from 1997 to 2004. 

In 2004, Rushdie was married to his 4th wife Padma Lakshmi, an Indian-American actress, model and host of the American reality television show Top Chef. Their marriange ended in 2007. 

Salman Rushdie is the author of 14 novels, a Fellow of the British Royal Society of Literature and won the Whitbread Prize for best Novel twice. 

Salman has received many awards, highest honours and recognition for his outstanding writings. He honored with Golden PEN Award, Hans Christian Andersen Literature Award, Swiss Freethinkers award and others. 

In Friday, Salam Rushdie was attending a lecture series at the Chautauqua Institution as a guest speaker to discuss with Reese (co-founder of City of Asylum) how the United States serves as an asylum for writer in exile.  

While Salam Rushdie was delivering the lecture an unknown man named Hadi Matar who rushed to the stage and attacked to Rushdie where the author was to speak. 

Rushdie has been targeted for his words for decades but he has never flinched nor faltered. 

As per the report of various agent, at present Salman Rushdies is on a ventilator and cannot speak. His arm and liver are injured, and he may lose an eye.
