Aaron Judge becomes 16th Captain in New York Yankees

Aaron James Judge is an American professional baseball outfielder.

Judge was unanimously selected as the American League (AL) Rookie of the Year in 2017, and finished second in voting for the AL Most Valuable Player Award that year.

In 2022, he set the AL record for most home runs in a season with 62, breaking the 61-year-old record held by Roger Maris.

Judge, 30, agreed to stay in the Big Apple this offseason by inking a new nine-year, $360 million contract.

A four time All-Star and reigning AL MVP, Judge was drafted by the Yankees in the first round of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Fresno State.

In his career with the Yankees, Judge has a .284 batting average, 220 home runs and 497 runs batted in (RBI) in 729 games over a span of seven seasons (2016-22).
