Hollis also founded the Dave Hollis Giving Fund -- which aims to aid children in foster care, homeless teens and the food insecure -- and was a four-time foster parent.

He has also served on the board of the membership committee for the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, and was a member of the Academy.
