Jose Aldo former featherweight champion retires from UFC

Jose Aldo da Silva Oliveira, Brazilian mixed martial artist. He is commonly known as Jose Aldo.

Jose Aldo was born on 9 September 1986 in Manaus, State of Amazonas, Brazil.

Jose Aldo became the first UFC Featherweight Champion following the UFC/WEC merger.

Jose Aldo is widely considered as one the best mixed martial artists of all-time, and as the greatest featherweight ever.

In 2009, Jose Aldo was named Sherdog’s Fighter of the Year.

Jose Aldo winning 18 straight fights and remained undefeated over a decade from 2006 to until UFC 194 in December 2015.

On 23 August 2022, Jose Aldo was ranked #6 in the UFC bantamweight rankings.

On Sunday, legendary former featherweight champion Jose Aldo announced his retirement from MMA after nearly two decades of action.

Jose Aldo request was granted a release from his UFC contract, his coach and manager, Andre Pederneiras.
