Liz Truss win the United Kingdom PM Election 2022

Mary Elizabeth Truss also known by Liz Truss is a British politician who is the leader of the Conservative Party. 

Liz Truss was born on 26 July 1975 in Oxford, United Kingdom. She attended Roundhay School in the Roundhay area of Leeds. 

Truss started her career as a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) in 1999.

Liz Truss was raised in a left wing family, her father was a mathematician and her mother was a nurse and teacher. 

Liz Truss was an active member of Britain’s Liberal Democrats. As an Oxford student, called for a vote to end monarchy. 

After graduating Liz Truss switched to Tories. She held 6 ministerial posts under 3 PMs: Johnson, May and David Cameron. 

Liz Truss is Britain’s new prime minister. She won 81,326 votes of Tory members against former chancellor Rishi Sunak who secured 60,399 votes. 

Liz Truss beat rival Rishi Sunak, former Treasury chief, by promising to up defence spending and cutting taxes. 

Liz Truss is the third female Prime Minister in Britain, after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May. 

It was Liz Truss’s campaign pledge to reverse Rishi Sunak’s tax hike plans which seems to have worked in Truss favour.
