John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality.

Ozzy Osbourne was born on 3 December 1948 in Aston, Birmingham, United Kingdom. 

Ozzy Osbourne left school at 15 and was employed as a construction site labourer, trainee plumber, apprentice toolmaker, car factory horn-tuner, and abattoir worker. 

Drawn to the stage, Ozzy Osbourne took part in school plays such as Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado and HMS Pinafore.

In late 1967, Geezer Butler formed his first band, Rare Breed, and soon recruited Ozzy Osbourne to serve as vocalist.

Ozzy Osbourne rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. 

Ozzy Osbourne was known for his distinctive voice and adopted the nickname "Prince of Darkness".

Ozzy Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 due to alcohol and drug problems. His longevity and success have earned him the informal title "Godfather of Metal".

At the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards, Ozzy Osbourne received the Global Icon Award. In 2015, he received the Ivor Novello Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Ozzy Osbourne recently declared that he and his wife, Sharon Osbourne, are returning to their home country United Kingdom because they are fed up with the degree of violence in the US.
