Serena Williams wins US Open Tennis 2022 first round

Serena Jameka Williams is an American professional tennis player. She was born on 26 September 1981 in Saginaw, Michigan, United States. 

Serena Williams’s father Richard Williams, former American tennis coach and her mother Oracene Price, she is also an American tennis coach.  

When Serena Williams was four years old, her family moved to Compton, California, where she started playing tennis. 

At the age of nine, Serena Williams family moved from Compton to West Palm Beach, Florida, so that she could attend the tennis academy of Rick Macci. 

In 1995, when Williams was in the ninth grade, her father pulled Serena Williams out of Macci's academy and took over all coaching at their home. 

Serena Williams won her first major singles title at the 1999 US Open.  From the 2002 French Open to the 2003 Australian Open, Serena Williams was dominant, winning all four major singles titles. 

Beginning at the 2012 Wimbledon Championships, Williams returned to dominance, claiming Olympic gold and become the first tennis player who achieve a Career Golden Slam in both singles and doubles.

On 10 December 2016, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian proposed to Serena Williams and the couple married on 16 November 2017, in New Orleans. 

At the 2017 Australian Open, Serena Williams won her 23rd major singles title, surpassing Steffi Graf's Open Era record. She is the only tennis player, male or female, to win three of the four Grand Slams at least 6 times. 

During the entire life, Serena Williams has won a record 13 Grand Slam singles titles on hard court, Most women’s singles titles, five-time winner of the WTA Tour Championships, third most women's doubles Grand Slam titles. 

Monday Serena Williams defeated Danka Kovinic of Montenegro 6-3, 6-3  and wins US Open Tennis 2022 first round on Arthur Ashe Stadium Court. She swept into the US Open second round.
