Brandon Boogie B Montrell was popular on TikTok and other social media platforms for his humorous “Hood History” series of videos.

Boogie B Montrell was born in New Orleans but spent much of his childhood in Tampa, Florida.  He was a 43 year old social media personality and comedian.

Montrell performed as a professional comedian in Washington, New York, Baltimore and Philadelphia, and recently moved to Los Angeles.

In his video he shared sharp-witted stories about the city’s lesser-known, but colorful past — much of which focused on black American tales.

Boogie B Montrell had more than 226,000 followers on TikTok and more than 109,000 followers on Instagram.

TikTok star Brandon "Boogie B" Montrell was killed by a stray bullet while out for shopping with his grandmother on Friday, Dec. 23.

Boogie B was killed while sitting in a car parked in the Rouses grocery store in the Warehouse District around 4:07 p.m. the afternoon before.

Montrell’s mother said that “My son was not just the victim of a stray bullet,” in a Saturday statement obtained by Fox 8.

The family of Montrell, blamed that political leaders are responsible for killing of Boogie B outside the Rouses grocery store in New Orleans' Central Business District.
