Leo Movie Review: Analysis of the Script of Movie

Lokesh Kanagaraj has joined forces with Rathna Kumar, the writer of “Master” and “Vikram,” and brought in Deeraj Vaidy from “Jil Jung Juk.” Unfortunately, Vaidy’s contribution doesn’t add any value. When Loki repeatedly emphasized how he merely rehashed a tired concept but infused it with a theatrical touch, I couldn’t help but doubt it. It’s no surprise, though, as he’s made this claim multiple times, and that’s exactly what he delivers. The narrative is so unoriginal that even if you rebranded the film as ‘Deo,’ it would still be underwhelming.

However, there are moments of elevation, as promised, enhancing the overall theater experience for specific scenes. The issue is what comes between these high points. They are so scarce that it’s difficult to even tally them, and for the rest of the film, you find yourself yearning for more of Vikram. Manoj Paramahamsa cleverly conceals the rather ordinary visual effects with his camera wizardry, and Philomin Raj employs his editing skills skillfully. Still, during sequences with a significant amount of visual effects, the subpar quality becomes apparent.

Even the shallow screenplay severs the connection with the characters much sooner than you might expect. An illustrative instance of this is Vijay narrating a story of a serial killer, corpses strewn about, to his school-going daughter and only covering her ears when he reaches the word “bleeding.” It leaves you wondering what kind of storytelling this is.

Leo Movie Review: How did the Stars Perform

Thalapathy Vijay seems to have settled into such roles to the point of becoming quite predictable in his performances. There’s no denying his incredible star power, but we’ve witnessed a similar situation with Salman Khan, and we all know how that turned out when he became overly repetitive.

Trisha’s presence in the story doesn’t contribute much to either the plot or Parthiban’s character development. She fusses over a torn ‘anniversary’ shirt, oblivious to the fact that he’s saved numerous lives while battling a wild hyena. Arjun and Sanjay Dutt’s talents are underutilized, leaving us yearning for more from both of them. Sandy Master successfully embodies the crazed serial killer, and it’s a shame he didn’t remain the primary antagonist throughout the film.

Leo Movie Review: Performance of Director & Music

Lokesh Kanagraj, fresh from the success of his career-best work in “Vikram,” takes a surprising dive into directing what may be the weakest film of his career. This film primarily caters to the desires of die-hard fans, with a storyline crafted exclusively for their enjoyment.

Anirudh Ravichander emerges as the savior of this cinematic endeavor. His musical prowess transforms otherwise ordinary scenes into enduring moments of joy. Anirudh’s skill at crafting fitting situational songs, exemplified by tracks like ‘I’m Scared,’ lends a distinctive charm to the film. It’s the magic of Anirudh’s background music that truly brings out the essence of Vijay’s charisma.
