Ronda Rouseys’ mother, a decorated judoka, was the first American to win a World Judo Championship In 1984.
For the first 06 years, Rousey struggle with speech and could not form an intelligible sentence due to apraxia, a neurological childhood speech sound disorder.
When Rousey was three years old, her family move to Jamestown, North Dakota to obtain intensive speech therapy with specialists at Minot State University.
Rousey began judo with her mother at the age of 11 and trained with her mother until she was 13.
At the age of 17, Rousey became the youngest judoka to qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
In 2004, Ronda Rousey won a gold medal at the World Junior Judo Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
In 2006, Rousey became the first female U.S. judoka in nearly 10 years to win an A-level tournament at the Birmingham World Cup in Great Britain.
In 2007, Rousey won the silver medal at the World Judo Championship and gold medal at Pan American Games.
In 2008, Rousey completed at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China and qualified for a bronze medl match through the repechage bracket.
In November 2012, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that Rousey had become the first female fighter to sign with the UFC. She wins a huge number of medals and awards her name in the career.
Rousey has been suspended indefinitely after attacking the referee following her match against Live Morgan at Summerslam.
